QUEENSLAND BOCKERS

Welcome

What is?  Well it is a new sport (some say extreme) that has made it's way to the land Down Under.  The Queensland Bockers website is still in it's infancy and we hope that anyone new to the sport can get assistance and talk to like minded participants.  No matter what brand of jumping stilt you have, talk to others and help yourself learn about your new addiction.

It is basically stilts that you strap onto your feet that have springs.  Yep springs and yes it is exactly what your thinking right now, just like "Skippy the bush kanga-roo-ski."  And unlike the ole tins you would put string in and walk over your cousins foot on, you can do all sorts of things. To give a little clearer perspective, you take the trampoline you have been bouncing on all your life and then wammo , here you go and strap that tramp to your feet.  That's what jumping stilts  are like and when you think of that how can you not think of FUN.

QUICK HISTORY

The term bocking has it's origins with a german fellow who has the original patent for jumping stilts.   There is alot of speculation of the true origins of the concept itself,  however  it has been apparent that we have Mr Alexander Bock to thank for the steam rolling effect that is beginning to take hold.(spelling differs being lost in transaltion, but that's how it is pronounced)

We are a non-profit group of bockers based in south-east Queensland
Together with shared intrest, organise meets for bockers to attend to improve their bocking ability.  Anyone can join in and become a member if they wish (as long as you have jumping stilts)
